Maud Gibson Trust<br />
The <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Botanic</strong> <strong>Gardens</strong> Foundation<br />
<strong>Victoria</strong> is also the Trustee for the<br />
Maud Gibson Trust, a public ancillary<br />
fund, which is required to make annual<br />
distributions to the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Botanic</strong> <strong>Gardens</strong><br />
<strong>Victoria</strong>.<br />
The Maud Gibson Trust was established<br />
in <strong>19</strong>45 with a donation from Miss Maud<br />
Gibson for the maintenance, development,<br />
or otherwise for the benefit of, <strong>Royal</strong><br />
<strong>Botanic</strong> <strong>Gardens</strong> <strong>Victoria</strong>. The Trust<br />
facilitated the initial purchase of land<br />
to establish Cranbourne <strong>Gardens</strong> and<br />
continues to have an influential role in the<br />
development of that site, including the<br />
multi-award-winning Australian Garden.<br />
It has also encouraged and supported<br />
botanical research and educational<br />
programs for many years at the<br />
Melbourne <strong>Gardens</strong>.<br />
The Maud Gibson Trust supported the<br />
following projects at <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Botanic</strong><br />
<strong>Gardens</strong> <strong>Victoria</strong> during the year:<br />

Warren Worboys — Plant collection,<br />
northern Queensland high peaks: $5,300<br />
Bronwyn Swartz — Plant collection trip:<br />
North Western <strong>Victoria</strong> and Calperum<br />
