HeroZona Foundation and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce<br />
Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes will host the third annual National<br />
Veteran Summit Nov. 5 through 7. There are 640,000 veterans,<br />
38,000 active duty service members and 1,000 veteran-owned<br />
companies in Arizona. This year’s summit theme is advancing<br />
economic opportunity for the military community. The experience<br />
will feature executive roundtables, an awards dinner, an<br />
employment summit, a career fair, a Bridge Forum on mental<br />
health, and workshops. The first two days of the event will take<br />
place at Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix. The third day will<br />
have events at Talking Stick Resort Arena, with the Military<br />
Appreciation Night with the Phoenix Suns as the conclusion to<br />
the summit. The event is free and open to active duty service<br />
members, National Guard and Army Reserve, veterans, military<br />

Giving on the Greens<br />
<strong>Scottsdale</strong> Active 20-30 Club’s NiteFlite Golf Tournament<br />
will return this month, celebrating its 30th year. The tournament,<br />
which will raise money for Arizona-based children’s<br />
charities, will take place on Nov. 15 at McCormick<br />
Ranch Golf Club, with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. This year,<br />
NiteFlite will have new party tent that anyone can purchase<br />
admission to without signing up for the actual golf<br />
tournament. Admission to the tent ($100) will include<br />
access to watching the tournament as well as food from<br />
the Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers food truck, drinks and<br />
a live DJ. There will also be corn hole, pop-a-shot and<br />
break-the-glass competitions. Additional fun festivities will<br />
include long drive and long putt contests, a beat the pro<br />
contest, a raffle drawing, and the 19th Hole Million Dollar<br />
