Advanced school bus training will enhance your driving skills to
the next level. Whether you are looking for a new occupation or
want to experience the great feeling of helping people get to
their desired destinations, this course is for you. Using an actual
school bus and driving simulators you will obtain the skills to
drive a bus in all types of situations. During this course you will
learn to drive a school bus in many rural and urban situations.
You will learn to maneuver, the school bus around corners, over
railroad tracks, through backing exercises, and many other real
life experiences that occur while driving. You will complete this
class with the confidence of driving a full length bus with handson
experiences under the direction of experienced bus drivers.
Class will conclude with the confidence to pass DOT tests and
obtain a bus driving position. This course is much more than
your average training. You will actually be driving in a variety of
“real life situations.” Note: You must have your school bus permit
which will allow you to drive on the roadway, as well as your
school bus and passenger DOT written tests.

Driver’s Education
Hawkeye’s Driver’s Education Program is designed to help
beginner drivers develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes
necessary to become safe, responsible drivers. We provide 30

wheel instruction. This program meets the requirement of
the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) Motor Vehicles
Division (DMV) for teenagers to obtain the graduated driver’s

practice before coming to class. However, your child will be
required to be proficient in their driving at the end of our course
or they will be requested to drive with the DOT to get their
license. Attendence is required for ALL sessions. No exceptions.
Students must have an Iowa driver’s permit before the first class.
Fee can be waived or reduced for students who qualify in the
