The Eastern Ottawa Resource

organization providing these vital
Community Support Services to
residents of Ottawa’s east end
including Orléans and surrounding
rural areas.
Committed staff and dedicated
volunteers help provide services
such as transportation, Meals
on Wheels, foot care, Adult Day
Programs, and more. More that a
service provider, the EORC aims to be
a seniors’ hub of services, activities,
and community, welcoming to all.
Last year volunteers contributed a
whopping 4,000 hours to ensure
that residents had access essential
health appointments. EORC
delivered nearly 30,000 healthy and
affordable meals, to those who can
no longer cook for themselves and
those recovering from a hospital
stay.

A community is only as strong as its
members
Many community support services
rely on volunteers and without
their support many services simply
wouldn’t exist leaving thousands
without help. Likewise, organizations
strive to ensure these services
remain affordable for everyone.
Low income individuals may be
eligible for a subsidy, thanks in
part to generous donations from
local businesses and community
residence. We all have something
to give; the gift of a friendly game
of cards with an isolated senior
or drive to a medical appointment
or a monetary donation. If you are
interested in “making a difference
in your own backyard contact your
local Community Support provider or
contact the EORC at 613-741-6025,
ext. 106.
