What is your idea of perfect happiness?
I don’t subscribe to the idea of “perfect happiness”, but I
will share that I would be very pleased to have a day that
includes coffee, laughter, family, friends and great food.
That would be a happy day for sure!
What is your favourite restaurant in Orléans?
Well that is an impossible question, since we have so
many excellent ones! My top three are Rangoli, Persis Grill
and Soul Stone. I’m looking forward to trying Pili Pili and
Caravela as well.
Which person (living or dead) do you most admire
and why?
These days I am very inspired by strong women with strong
voices, who are doing important work to effect positive
change; whether it be within non-profit organizations,
as staff in community services, as business owners, as
volunteers, or as candidates for political office. They give
me hope.
What is your favourite food?
I absolutely love to eat, but I don’t have one favourite food.
I like a variety of foods and I like to try new things. I enjoy
food that’s in season, and I’m very grateful to have the
Orléans Fruit Farm in our neighbourhood. Currently I’m really
enjoying beets and apples, and I’m always up for dessert.
Always.
Oh also a fan of Golden Fries and LaHa Tacos! We really are
spoiled.
Do you have a personal motto and, if yes, what is it?
Hmm…not really, but if I had to pick one to use it would be
“Choose compassion”.
What do you think Orléans will look like in 25 years?
I am hopeful that in 25 years Orléans will have densified
and diversified. We have a wonderful community, but our
neighbourhoods are all built similarly, which means that they
are suitable only for a certain segment of the population. To
be a more inclusive, dynamic and prosperous community
we need a variety of housing options as well as reliable and
affordable methods of transportation within our community.
Not only will that benefit our residents as individuals, it
will also strengthen our connections and be good for the
environment. I believe we can achieve that vision and I plan
to stick around to enjoy it!
