IN THE

NEIGHBOURHOOD

It may be one of the world’s bestloved

cities in itself, but New York is

home to an archipelago of boroughs

and neighbourhoods – each

with their own unique spirit. With

everything from cultural hotspots to

the bright lights of Broadway and

a melting pot of incredible eateries

to keep you full from morning until

night, there’s a reason we call it

the city that never sleeps. There’s

plenty of opportunity to take in that

incredible skyline, too

HUDSON YARDS

This is the new New York. You can’t miss

the modern mirrored skyscrapers to the

West Side of Manhattan, officially

launched as recently as 2019. Take in

the truly unique architecture, watch live

music at new arts centre The Shed or

sip a cocktail in one of the ultra-cool bars

- from March 2020, you’ll be able to take

in the incredible views from The Edge,

the city’s tallest observation deck.

Hudson Yards is easily accessible

from the High Line, New York’s popular

elevated walkway park - why not make

a day of it?

GREENWICH VILLAGE

The relaxed Greenwich Village is a

haven for free spirits, with independent

art galleries, comedy clubs, shops and

cafes aplenty. It’s a neighbourhood that’s

rich with creative history - the likes of

Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan began their

careers on these streets - and is also the

home of New York’s oldest running

off-Broadway theatre, Cherry Lane.

BROOKLYN

Having undergone something of a revival

in recent years, Brooklyn is a must-visit

during any trip to NYC. Try the worldfamous

pizza pies, mooch around the

quirky shops and look out to incredible

views across the water towards

Manhattan – we recommend saving your

walk across Brooklyn Bridge until sunset,

for a truly spectacular vista across

the water. The charming Coney Island

with its classic fairground rides and

picturesque beach is a must for families

(or kids at heart).

MIDTOWN

As New York’s beating heart, here you

will find all of the sights and attractions

that make this city so famous. Live your

movie moment in the unforgettable

chaos of Times Square before heading

to a show on Broadway, and visit the Top

of the Rock for the best views of the the

skyline, including the Empire State

Building. Shopaholics will love the iconic

Fifth Avenue, bordering Central Park and

offering labels galore.

CENTRAL PARK

Those wanting to explore New York on

foot will love this vast leafy space in the

centre of Manhattan, offering a beautiful

outlook no matter the time of year.

Surrounded by the city’s towering

skyscrapers, it’s a mammoth 3.4 square

kilometres in size - offering endless

spots to sit and while away the

afternoon. You can even dine inside the

park at the Loeb Boathouse, a lakeside

restaurant dating back to 1854.
