EXPERIENCE HAWAIʻI

Watch the sunrise from a mountain peak, discover cascading waterfalls, soar above the

islands for a bird’s eye view, spot whales breaching in the ocean and visit spectacular

landscapes used as the backdrop for TV and film

HELICOPTER TOURS

The best way to appreciate Hawaiʻi’s

incredible landscapes is from above.

Take a helicopter tour for magnificent

views of Jurassic forests, crashing

waterfalls, whale pods and lava flows

over the islands. Choose from a

range of helicopter tours covering

different routes, from a Molokaʻi

Voyage to Haleakalā Crater or

Hana Rainforest Experience.

VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Volcanoes National Park on Hawaiʻi

Island is home to the world’s most active

volcano, Kilauea, as well as its largest,

Mauna Loa, which rises over 13,600 feet

above sea level. Tour the 333,000 acre

park to see deserts, rainforests, lava

tubes and volcanic craters. Try the Crater

Rim Drive, walk through the Thurston

Lava Tube and see Puu Oo Vent spurt

lava from underground tubes straight

into the ocean.

THE HANA HIGHWAY

Drive Maui’s famous Hana Highway, a

103 kilometre stretch of road that

traverses 54 bridges and over 600

curves. The windy road takes you

through forests and along the coast, past

eucalyptus trees, Black Sand Beach and

Waianapanapa State Park. Stop off at

Keanae Peninsula, the Bamboo Forest,

Wailua Falls and the Garden of Eden,

where the opening scenes of Jurassic

Park were filmed.

ISLAND LIFE

Each of Hawaiʻi’s islands tells its own

story, and island-hopping here is a great

way to learn about them. Oʻahu has

something for everyone, including

shopping and nightlife in Honolulu,

beautiful beaches and surf lessons in

Waikiki Beach. Delve into history and

culture at Pearl Harbor and the Arizona

Memorial and Punchbowl before zipping

across to peaceful Lānaʻi. There, you can

hike the Munro Trail among native ohia

lehua trees or the lunar landscape of

Keahikawelo (Garden of the Gods).

Hiking is idyllic on Maui too, with

rainforests, mountains and fine red,

white and black sand beaches.

Be sure to stop for a bowl of fresh poke.

WHALE WATCHING

Whales from Alaska come to Hawaiʻi to

enjoy the warm waters to breed, birth

and raise their young in safety. Each

winter from December to May, thousands

of humpback whales can be seen in the

waters surrounding Maui as they are

drawn to the shallow waters and the

Auau Channel between Maui, Molokaʻi

and Lānaʻi. Maui is most popular for

whale watching and between late

November and early May you will see

water spouts across the horizon from the

humpback whales that migrate to these

warmer waters to breed and nurse

their calves.

UNDERNEATH THE SEA

Snorkel or scuba dive among the

colourful coral reefs, where you can

watch green sea turtles grazing on the

sea grass while the yellow butterfly fish

dart between the rocks.
