Northern Canada
These remote and untouched
territories are vast and unchanged
over the course of time – home
to magic skies and wild places.
Although secluded, there is much
to explore whether viewing the
abundant wildlife, soaking up
the culture or experiencing the
midnight sun and the phenomenal
Northern Lights.

EXPERIENCE
NORTHERN CANADA
There is so much to see and do in these vast provinces, from dog sledding to polar
bear viewing and even panning for gold. Here are some of our favourite experiences
or places to visit in Northern Canada:
POLAR BEAR SPOTTING
Possibly one of the most exciting
wildlife encounters imaginable can be
found just a short flight from Winnipeg.
Known as the polar bear capital of the
world, Churchill, in Manitoba, offers
viewing polar bears in the wild, and is
one of northern Canada’s bucket list
items. Visit between October and
November for some of the best
viewing opportunities.
BELUGA WHALE WATCHING
These playful white whales sometimes
referred to as sea canaries for their
unusual high-pitched noises are a real
delight to see in the wild. Each summer
almost 60,000 belugas gather in
northern Manitoba’s Hudson Bay and
around 3,000 visit the Churchill River
basin where you can easily spot them on
whale watching tours. Due to their
sociable nature, beluga whales often

NORTHERN LIGHTS VIEWING
Head to Yukon province for some of the
world’s best Aurora Borealis or Northern
Lights viewing. Being so close to
Canada’s Arctic Circle, you will find some
of the longest seasons for viewing, from
late August to early April. Enjoy
incredible unobscured views of the
mesmerising skies as they burst with a
kaleidoscope of neon colours.
WHITEHORSE, YUKON
Located within earshot of the mighty
Yukon River, Whitehorse is the main
gateway and arrival point in the Yukon.
The city, although small, retains much of
its prospector history from the Klondike
Gold Rush of 1898 with its old western
style buildings and even panning for gold
in the nearby Klondike Goldfields.
KLUANE NATIONAL PARK, YUKON
In the southwest corner of the Yukon, this
wonderful national park is ideal for
self-driving. Travel through lush valleys
and past the stunning emerald lake
framed by snow-capped mountains.
You’ll also be able to spot plenty of
wildlife here including grizzly bears,
moose, lynx and wolves.
