fresh attacks on his constituents<br />
yesterday by armed<br />
b<strong>an</strong>dits, Chairm<strong>an</strong>, Senate<br />
Services Committee,<br />
Senator Mohammed S<strong>an</strong>i<br />
Musa, All Progressives Congress,<br />
APC, Niger East, has<br />
appealed to President Muhammadu<br />
Buhari, the state<br />
governor <strong>an</strong>d Service Chiefs<br />
to, as a matter of urgency,<br />
come to the aid of his people.<br />
In a statement, Musa said<br />
armed b<strong>an</strong>dits launched<br />
what he described as a successful<br />
mayhem <strong>in</strong> five<br />
different communities of Shiroro<br />
local government on<br />
Friday night <strong>an</strong>d <strong>in</strong>to the early<br />
hours of yesterday, say<strong>in</strong>g<br />
that there <strong>was</strong> however no<br />
security presence <strong>in</strong> the area.<br />
Accord<strong>in</strong>g to him, <strong>in</strong>nocent<br />
families <strong>in</strong> Kudodo, Galapai,<br />
Dnakpa; Makera <strong>an</strong>d<br />
Dnalagwa were attacked,<br />
raped, kidnapped, displaced,<br />
killed <strong>an</strong>d community<br />
members straddled <strong>in</strong> a<br />
state of despair.<br />
The lawmaker said,<br />
“Armed b<strong>an</strong>dits successfully<br />
attacked <strong>in</strong> five different<br />
communities of Galapai,<br />
Dnakpa; Makera <strong>an</strong>d<br />
Dnalagwa <strong>in</strong> Shiroro local<br />
government this morn<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>an</strong>d no security <strong>was</strong> there for<br />
rescue.<br />
“Innocent families have<br />
been displaced, killed, raped,<br />
kidnapped <strong>an</strong>d community<br />
members straddled <strong>in</strong> a state<br />
of despair. As the attacks cont<strong>in</strong>ued,<br />
more villagers <strong>in</strong> my<br />
constituency are await<strong>in</strong>g<br />
their fate as no sign of succour<br />
comes their way.<br />
“ It is confirmed that the<br />
b<strong>an</strong>dits are attack<strong>in</strong>g all<br />
through the night to this afternoon<br />
<strong>an</strong>d most communities<br />
are <strong>in</strong> grave d<strong>an</strong>ger, as<br />
b<strong>an</strong>dits have plagued most<br />
local governments of Niger<br />
East for over four months<br />
now.<br />
“Please: I w<strong>an</strong>t to aga<strong>in</strong><br />
wish to appeal to Mr President,<br />
the Comm<strong>an</strong>der-<strong>in</strong>-<br />
Chief of the armed forces,<br />
President Muhammadu Buhari,<br />
to come to the aid of my<br />
people. This is not the first<br />
time I am mak<strong>in</strong>g this k<strong>in</strong>d<br />
of passionate appeal but not<br />
much has been done to address<br />
the situation. I pray that<br />
his Excellency would hear my<br />
appeal this time <strong>an</strong>d use his<br />
power <strong>in</strong> this regard.<br />
“The havoc wreaked by<br />
b<strong>an</strong>dits on my people <strong>in</strong> the<br />
past few months is immeasurable<br />
<strong>an</strong>d the pa<strong>in</strong>s <strong>in</strong>describable.<br />
“It is truly a sad situation<br />
that has cont<strong>in</strong>ued to pull<br />
tears to my eyes see<strong>in</strong>g my<br />
people be<strong>in</strong>g put through<br />
such a torturous <strong>an</strong>d <strong>in</strong>hum<strong>an</strong>e<br />
treatment <strong>in</strong> the h<strong>an</strong>d<br />
of a godless people supposed<br />
to give all concerned cause<br />
to worry.<br />

after I received the report of<br />
fresh attacks on five communities<br />

hygiene <strong>an</strong>d to report <strong>an</strong>y<br />
suspected cases promptly to<br />
the nearest health facility.<br />
