Chinese delegation visits Sorocaba
Received by Mayor Jaqueline Coutinho, a delegation
of Chinese authorities paid an official visit to the
municipality to expand commercial, industrial and
government relations. The group included officials from
the Wuxi region, a sister city of Sorocaba located near
the East Coast of China, interested in knowing details
of the administration, legislation and strengthening
business relationships.
Sorocaba stands out in the country as a developed,
preserved and open city for investments in the most
diverse areas. With innovative initiatives and leading
role in the use of technological resources, the municipality
is revolutionizing the business environment by creating
concepts, investing in new ideas and regulating laws
and incentives that guarantee support for already
consolidated entrepreneurs and pave the way for new
businesses. In Sorocaba, the Municipal Administration
works in partnership with productive sectors in search
of resources and solutions focused on continuous and
sustainable development.
Sorocaba among
the best cities to do business
When it comes to business, Sorocaba ranks 36th
among the more than 5,570 municipalities in the
country and the 17th in the state in the ranking that
evaluates the best cities to do business with. This is what
a survey carried out by Urban Systems - a reference
company in market intelligence and consultancy -
reveals in its ranking of the “100 Best Cities to Do
Business, 2019 edition”.
The Economic Development, Labor and Tourism
Department, through the Business Development
Division, has the following main actions:
• Articulation with the various Departments
to streamline processes for attracting companies
in Sorocaba through the sector that accompanies
the processes of installation, expansion and
maintenance of companies;
• Granting of Tax Incentives;
• Approaching companies in Sorocaba by
articulating and promoting the development of
Local Productive Arrangements;
Lecture guides new business in the USA
The Honorary Consul of Brazil in Orlando, United
States, Joel Stewart, was at the Technological Park of
Sorocaba and gave the lecture “Internationalization
of Companies in the USA: Opportunities and
Procedures”, which addressed possibilities of doing
business and receiving US investments. The process of
companies internationalization is one of the focuses of
the Technology Park, which also received representatives
from the Brazilian Institute for the Development of
International Business Relationships to coordinate the
organization of an event in order to show Sorocaba
companies business formats with the foreign market.
