Univesp centers facilitate
access to higher education
University of the State of São Paulo
(Univesp), a distance education institution
maintained by the State Government.
Among the courses available are Bachelor’s
Degree in Data Science, Bachelor’s Degree in
Information Technology, Technology in Public
Management - CPS, Computer Engineering,
Literature - Qualification in Portuguese
Language, Degree in Mathematics and
Pedagogy.
City hall implements
new daycare centers
Sorocaba City Hall is investing heavily in expanding
the number of places in daycare centers. In 2019 alone,
there were 14 new units that together benefit more than
1,800 children. To increase these numbers, the Municipal
Administration obtained from the National Education
Development Fund (FNDE) of the Ministry of Education
resources of the order of R$ 30 million for the construction
of eight new daycare centers in the city.
City has one
of the highest IDEBs
The Municipal Education Network
achieved an excellent result in IDEB - Basic
Education Development Index, an indicator
created by the Federal Government to measure
the quality of basic education. Municipal
schools achieved a score of 6.7 in 2018, a result
of the work developed through the planning of
actions and new investments in the sector.
