<strong>Sorocaba</strong> is a modern city and its urban organization is a reference because it<br />
combines resources from large centers with the advantages of a compact city, favoring<br />
the proximity of housing, work, services, schools, health and leisure. The municipality<br />
has an integrated mobility system that encourages the population to use it, but is making<br />
significant investments.<br />
BRT – Bus Rapid Transit<br />
<strong>Sorocaba</strong> City Hall is completing the largest urban<br />
mobility project in the city’s history. BRT (Bus Rapid<br />
Transit), is a system of rapid urban mobility that offers<br />
comfort, safety and efficiency to users. It proposes an<br />
improvement in public transport infrastructure and<br />
greater social inclusion, since it is accessible for people<br />
with disabilities and reduced mobility. Another great<br />
advantage is the reduction of the environmental impact.<br />
With investments in the order of R$ 380 million, the<br />
BRT <strong>Sorocaba</strong> System is expected to go into partial<br />
operation for testing in the first half of <strong>2020</strong> and to be<br />
fully implemented by the end of the year.<br />
CAF guarantees investment of U$ 70<br />
million in mobility and infrastructure<br />
The <strong>Sorocaba</strong> Environmental and Road Optimization<br />
Program - Total Mobility is in full progress, based on the<br />
Master Plan of the road system and the interventions<br />
necessary for the development of urban mobility,<br />
interconnecting different regions of the city. The objective<br />
is to improve the population’s quality of life, with actions<br />
for environmental preservation, social interaction and<br />
adequate urbanization development. The value of<br />
the agreement with CAF is US$ 70 million, with a<br />
counterpart of equal value.<br />
