1854 et représentant l’histoire de France des origines jusqu’à Charlemagne.
These two studies of men are preparatory for two figures in the cul-de-four of the western
apse of the Conference Hall in the Palais de Luxembourg. They were executed by
Lehman in 1854 and represent French history from the beginning up to Charlemagne.
