A la suite <strong>de</strong>s Bibiena, Juvarra, Brizzi et Navona, se <strong>de</strong>́veloppe toute une école<br />

spécialisée dans les <strong>de</strong>́cors <strong>de</strong> théâtre et projets <strong>de</strong> scènes dans le nord <strong>de</strong> l’Italie, à<br />

laquelle ce projet peut être rattaché. Vers la fin du XVIII e siècle, les prisons et cachots<br />

sont <strong>de</strong> plus en plus utilisés comme lieu <strong>de</strong> l’action au théâtre et à l’opéra, ce qui offre<br />

aux peintres et <strong>de</strong>́corateurs la possibilité <strong>de</strong> réaliser <strong>de</strong>s <strong>de</strong>́cors spectaculaires.<br />

In the wake of the Bibienas, Juvarra, Brizzi and Navona, a school specialising in<br />

theatre <strong>de</strong>corations and stage <strong>de</strong>signs <strong>de</strong>veloped in northern Italy, to which the present<br />

<strong>de</strong>sign can be connected. Towards the end of the 18th century, prisons and dungeons<br />

were more and more often used as sites of action in theatre and opera, which gave<br />

painters and <strong>de</strong>corators the opportunity of executing spectacular <strong>de</strong>corations.<br />
