chambellan à Innsbruck, castellano <strong>de</strong> la forteresse <strong>de</strong> Livourne et gouverneur <strong>de</strong> celle<br />
<strong>de</strong> Sienne, ce contemporain <strong>de</strong> Stefano <strong>de</strong>lla Bella et <strong>de</strong> Jacques Callot mena aussi<br />
une carrière militaire.<br />
The meticulous and contrasting drawing technique evokes certain works of Ercole<br />
Bazzicaluva, who was born in Pisa but active in Florence as an engraver in the<br />
first half of the 17 th century. The maestro di campo of the Grand Duke of Tuscany,<br />
chamberlain in Innsbruck, the castellano of the fortress of Livorno and the governor of<br />
that of Sienna, he was contemporary of Stefano <strong>de</strong>lla Bella and Jacques Callot and<br />
also led a military career.<br />
