Smash It<br />
What is it? Everyone’s had that moment … you know the one where all you<br />
want to do is just let loose and smash something!? Well now you can - in a safe,<br />
controlled and super fun environment! The Smash It smash room (and splash<br />
room!) is owned by two <strong>Ballito</strong> moms who came across the unique concept<br />
while on holiday in Clarens. They had so much fun that they decided to start up<br />
something similar <strong>Ballito</strong>!<br />
How it works: On arrival you decide if you’re either going to ‘smash it’ in<br />
the smash room or ‘splash it’ in the splash room! Or do both! The smash room<br />
is basically a safe, enclosed area where you can ‘go wild’ and smash up empty<br />
bottles, old, unfixable appliances, unwanted crockery and pretty much anything<br />
your heart desires! Safety comes first, of course, so before you enter the smash<br />
room, the team help you gear up from head to toe with gum boots and full<br />
protective wear. Then you just have to walk in, pick your weapon (a cricket or<br />
baseball bat maybe...?) and start smashing! The music gets turned up loud and<br />
for 10 minutes and you can literally let all your frustrations go! The UV paint<br />
splash room is a little more ‘timid’, but no less fun! After putting on your goggles<br />

and space to just ‘let loose’!<br />
and protective poncho you enter the<br />
room which is covered from floor to<br />
ceiling in luminous paint. Each person<br />
is given a canvas, paints and brushes.<br />
Again, the music gets turned up and<br />
you can let your crazy, creative juices<br />
flow … even painting your friends if<br />
you like!<br />
Get It girls’ verdict: Yes, yes,<br />
yes we will be back! The smash room<br />
was a massive hit – and frustrations<br />
were definitely released! One or two<br />
of us actually preferred the splash<br />
room even more though – especially<br />
when we started flinging paint at one<br />
another! We had so many laughs and<br />
the entire evening was loads of fun<br />
and just great food for the soul!<br />
