Mostly famous for their red wines, some world
class whites are made here as well. Around 7%
of the yearly production in Bordeaux is dry white
wine. The most famous are produced in the Pessac-
Léognan appellation. These wines are truly great
and can be compared with many of the world’s best
white wines. The grape varieties used are Semillon,
Sauvignon Blanc and a small part of Muscadelle.
