DOMAINE TRAPET PERE & FILS
As well as converting to biodynamic winemaking back in 1998, Jean-
Louis Trapet introduced lower-yielding rootstocks and green harvesting
in an effort to get the most out of his vines. There is an impressive
concentration and intensity of the domaine’s Le Chambertin (of which
it owns 1.9 hectares), while the rest of the range leans towards elegance
and finesse. An estate that never fails to impress.

DOMAINE DUGAT-PY
Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, vines at the famed Domaine Dugat-Py
have an average age of almost 70 years, with some being over 100 years
old. Even more impressive is that Dugat’s winemaking heritage can be
traced back to 1645. The estate is now run by Bernard Dugat who strives
for elegance over opulence in his wines. Despite being approachable in
their youth, they really come into their own after 5-8 years of maturity.

DOMAINE D’EUGÉNIE
This was formerly Domaine Engel until Philippe Engel’s tragic death in
2005, following which Château Latour owner François Pinault bought
the estate. Domaine d’Eugénie’s first vintage was 2006, and has since
gained an impressive following as quality continues to improve thanks to
meticulous tending of the vines and lower yields than in the Engel era.
