BURGUNDY
TOP END BURGUNDY
DOMAINE LEROY
Lalou Bize-Leroy heads up Domaine Leroy and is often referred to as the
queen of Burgundy. Formerly a co-director at Domaine de la Romanée-
Conti, she now owns 22 hectares of vines in Burgundy, most of which are
premier and grand cru. Farmed biodynamically since its inception, severe
pruning results in powerfully concentrated wines produced in miniscule
quantities. Consequently, they are extremely sought after.

DOMAINE ARMAND ROUSSEAU
The most renowned estate in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin – and
indeed one of the most illustrious names in Burgundy – Domaine Armand
Rousseau owns more vines in the grand cru vineyard of Chambertin
than any other grower. Rousseau’s Chambertin and Clos St. Jacques are
considered by many to be the pinnacle of terroir expression. It follows
that these wines are some of the most collectable in the world.

By Burgundian standards, Dujac is a relatively youthful domaine, having
been created in 1968. Located in the village of Morey-St-Denis and with
11.5 hectares of vineyards, it is another of Burgundy’s most acclaimed
producers. Dujac has holdings in seven grand cru vineyards, and the
house style tends towards exceptional structure, fragrance and longevity.
