ALDO CONTERNO
Having worked alongside his brother Giovanni, Aldo Conterno decided in
1969 to forge his own winemaking path and set up his own estate. He has
since gone on to achieve legendary status in Piedmont. Best known for
its single vineyard Barolos, the estate’s production has been deliberately
reduced in recent years in a constant pursuit of quality. Old vines create
elegant, rich, wonderfully balanced wines.

BRUNO GIACOSA
Another top name in Barolo, Bruno Giacosa’s wines display an enviable
suppleness and elegance. There is an extensive range of wine produced,
however Giacosa’s most revered cuvées are the selection of riservas with
their distinctive red labels. Wine writer Steven Brook says of these wines:
“it sometimes seems as though [they] flowed from the vineyard into the
bottle without human intervention”.
