CSMX Tierhoek – 29 August 20<strong>21</strong><br />
The 3rd round of the CSMX Enduro Racing season<br />
for 20<strong>21</strong> took place on top of a mountain-ringed<br />
plateau at Piekenierskloof, surrounded by snowcapped<br />
peaks of the Citrusdal mountain range.<br />
With intermittent showers and then sunshine, the<br />
riders got off to a staggered start as the terrain<br />
could not accommodate the usual rush for the holeshot,<br />
and then disappeared out into the tough loop<br />
set for them by the Tierhoek Enduro Compound.<br />
Rocks and MUD were prime features on the day<br />
with many riders becoming totally bogged down in<br />
various sections and needing assistance from their<br />
fellow competitors to get going again. Rear wheels<br />
were totally buried in the mud and the riders needed<br />
to dig themselves out using only their hands.<br />
Some vehicles in the pits even needed the tractor<br />
that was on standby to extricate them from sticky<br />
situations.<br />
The coup de grace for the weary was a tyre-androck<br />
obstacle section of about 90m length just<br />
before the finish line which saw many victims using<br />
the last of their energy to make it through.<br />
The final events of the racing season, (4 & 5), will<br />
be a double header at Bennie se Lapa, Robertson<br />
on 23rd & 24th of October. All the riders are looking<br />
forward to ending the year on a high note. Be<br />
there!<br />
