Much like a typical superbike school. This is to make
things safer and more fun for the riders – the kids race
against similar paced riders on similar machines.
As the riders improve through the year, they then
progress up through the classes – and once they are
consistently fast enough in the A class, they can then
“Graduate” to the inland race series.
It all makes good sense, a safe, controlled way to feed
our sport without piling on too much pressure.
HOWEVER: In saying that – you need to see just how
competitive the kids become. It is a full on race no
matter what anyone says – four 10 minute sessions per
event as fast as you can go.
At every race the kids get a 10 minute practice session
at that specific track just to make sure that a fast rider at
ERORA is not too slow for – let’s say, Chestnut.
Mixing the track up also makes sense because the kids
get to ride in all different kinds of conditions - The
tracks are all very different. They don’t just ride at the
same place each time.
ATS Timing is at every event, so you can see how your
kids progress (Or regress) from lap to lap or track to
Track.
Chad and Ashleigh Arnold are Clerk of the course and in
charge of the timing and smooth running of each event.
