The Social class saw lots of action with many riders taking
their turns in the top positions. Fences were also a
part of the “things to avoid” list but judging by the number
of fence stories being shared, this item was definitely
ignored on the day!
Day 1 results:
Day 2 results:
The Senior class saw some hard racing, so hard that one
rider ran out of fuel 50m from the finish line! Lucky that
KTM has that sneaky second tank. After giving his bike a
“rest” on the ground he was able to make it into the pits
for a much-needed refuel – much to his relief!
Day 1 results:
Day 2 results:
Anton had the class to himself on Sunday and had fun
racing the two-wheelers all day!
Day 2 results:
Although the race had to be red flagged on the Sunday
after two of the riders needed medical attention, the
weekend was overall a great success.
The glamping was excellent – neat, clean and well laid
out with all necessities waiting for tire riders to clean up
and take a well-earned rest. A big thank you to Ryno
and team!
WCOC can be grateful that Ockert Swart, their tireless
track setter, is a club member who also has a family who
loves the sport and support him, and therefore the club,
on all the weekends of preparation before the event, and
then clean up of the loops afterwards. His loops are wellplanned
and take all types of terrain into account with
a skill and knowledge of rider capabilities. Thank you,
Ockie!!!
A big shout out to the farmer, Rikus, who did so much
behind the scenes and was available all weekend to
assist where needed.
Everyone was happy that the racing season ended well.
Riding the beautiful terrain in the Porterville area as well
as a section along the old ox wagon road at the foot of
the mountains makes the racing and club events even
more special in the Western Cape.
Oh my goodness! The Master class were on the gas both
days and gave the other classes more than a run for their
money!
Day 1 results:
1st - Johan van Lill
2nd - Clint Rieper
3rd - Izak Mans
Day 2 results:
1st - Johan van Lill
2nd - Clint Rieper
3rd - Izak Mans
On Day 1 the Quads had a good field of 5 riders but
unfortunately 2 riders had to bow out - one with a burnt
clutch and the second, an MX rider, never having experienced
such a tough loop with all the terrain obstacles
that he ended up doing a day-to-night ride.
