The timetable according to GMCA is:
• October 3, 2021 - representation stage closes
• October 2021 to January 2022 - Submission documentation prepared
• January 2022 - Plan submitted to Government
• 2022 - Examination in Public
• 2023 - Places for Everyone adopted by Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Salford, Rochdale,
Tameside, Trafford, and Wigan Councils
If any of us thought we could sit back for a few weeks after the submission, the recent letter to
houses in the area regarding the consultation for a Sports Hub on the Bamford site reminded us to
keep on our toes.
A series of radio appearances, press releases and articles over recent weeks have highlighted that
the developers are pushing on trying to make the case for the housing, but with promises of sports
development that fail to mention the loss of greenbelt land, 450 houses or impacts on local traffic
and one-way systems.
You will see us out and about over the next few months as we collect our own evidence in
readiness for the next phase - checking traffic levels, traffic pollution, flooding to show that this is a
flawed plan.
We can be represented at that Public Examination and are looking to raise funds to pay for a
barrister to do this on our behalf.
