Your Ward Councillors are here all year round to offer help and advice on a wide range of local issues
The last month has been really busy in the ward with lots of local good news stories to
celebrate. Norden has once again been part of a successful North West in Bloom entry. The first
In Bloom entry featured our village over 12 years ago and it is great to see local features still
winning gold awards today.
We recently welcomed Manchesters High Sheriff to Scout Moor to see the combined efforts of
community, councillors, police and other local stakeholders in tackling the problem of illegal offroading
which has been damaging the moors and causing disruption and danger to other,
legitimate users. She was etremely impressed at just how effective the measures have already
proven to be in preventing unauthorised access.
We have had meetings with our ights of Way Officer regarding the footpath at Black ad and
are hopeful of a positive resolution on this when it comes to Township in the coming weeks.
We have been contacted by a number of residents who have had uestions and concerns about
the change of ownership and proposed remediation works at the TBA Turner Bros. Asbestos
site. Whilst we are pleased that the site is now owned by a company who a looking to engage
with the council we will be keeping a close watch on this important issue and ensuring that
public information and consultation is available to keep residents informed of all that is
happening.
We have begun to resume our ward surgeries where it is safe to do so, so if you have an issue

We hope that the forthcoming Christmas and New Year period is a peaceful one for you, but we
