I James Collins, of the County of Shelby, state of Kentucky being sensible of the mortal state of my body,<br />

knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament as touching such<br />

worldly property as it has pleased God to bless me with. I give and bequeath in manner following. I give unto my<br />

son Edward Collins a man's saddle and bridle, which he now has, a bed and furniture, a cow and calf, which will<br />

make him equal with the rest of my children viz, James W. Collins, George Collins, Nancy, William, Jeremiah,<br />

John, James, Polly, Fanny and Ester. I will that James Collins, my grandson who now lives with me when he<br />

arrives at the lawfull age that he have of my estate a horse or $30 whichever may suit my wife then to give him, if<br />

my wife shall then be living. If not, as shall seem best to my executor herein after named. All the rest of my<br />

property indiscriminately that I now have in posession and also all legacy which I may receive of the estate of my<br />

father late dead. I will to my beloved wife during her natural life or widowhood for her use and support and at or<br />

after her death whatever thereof shall be remaining to be equally divided among all my children herein named and<br />

Grandson James Collins the _____ to be first sold and the money equally divided and last I do make and ordain<br />

constitute and appoint my beloved wife Nancy and Zachius Carpenter executors of this my last will and testament.<br />

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 3rd day of October 1818.<br />
