The Will of Jeremiah W. Collins<br />

I Jeremiah W. Collins of the County of Union and state of Kentucky, being of sound mind and disposing memory<br />

but in bad health do make this my Last Will and Testament in name and sound wit. I give unto my beloved wife,<br />

Sarah Collins, Six Hundred Dollars cash in hand, also my two negro girls, Clara and Darcus Ann, during her<br />

natural life for her comfort and support and at the death of my said wife, I give the above named girl, Darcus Ann,<br />

Mariam E. Smith, and the said girl, Clara, I will to my son Phillip Collins if he thinks proper to take her as his<br />

Hundred Dollars out of his share of my estate, and if not she is to be sold and divided as other estate. I will to my<br />

said wife, Sarah Collins, so much of my said ______together with household and kitchen furniture, stock, ____<br />

and which may be necessary that is on the farm as she may think Necessary for her comfort and support during<br />

her life. I will to my daughter, Mariam E. Smith, One Hundred Dollars in addition to the girl Darcus Ann. I will at<br />

the death of my said wife that the farm and all my land be sold and the proceeds to be divided equally between my<br />

children and the heirs so as my son, Christopher G. Collins' heirs, shall receive one part, and Zacheus Collins'<br />

heirs one part, and to my daughter, Juliann Collins Dodge heirs one part and my son Edward Collins' heirs one<br />

part, and my daughter Nancy Wallace heirs one part, and my daughter America I. Clemants heirs one part, and my<br />

daughter Elizabeth Hosman's heirs one part. It is expressly my will that the heirs of the above named deceased<br />

children shall receive their part and to my son James Collins, one part, and to my son Phillip Collins one part.<br />

One part to my daughter Mariam E. Smith after deducting the _____ of the before named girl, Darcus Ann and<br />

the One Hundred Dollars, one equal part, my ____ is that my estate be equally divided between my living<br />

children and the bodily heirs of the above named deceased children. I will if my wife whencecnot wish to keep all<br />

my ___ property that she may sell so much as she may think proper and use the proceeds for her comfort and<br />

support. I hereby appoint my son Phillip Collins and James B. Wallarce executors of this my last will and<br />

testament, and guardian for the heirs of the before named deceased children during their minority. In testament<br />

whereof I hereto set my hand an seal this 20th day of April 1852.<br />

The foregoing Last Will and Testament of Jeremiah Collins, deceased, was this day produced in open Court and<br />

found to be the ____ of John Dyer and E.G.Collins to witnes thereto and ordered to be recorded which is done<br />

accordingly. Jeremiah Collins married Sarah Young in Jefferson County, Kentucky on July 7. 1806.<br />
