Mogan Mall Shopping Centre
Celebrating the success of the 1st Edition of Trenderete,
the Handicraft Market and Canary Cuisine
Markets in Gran Canaria are one of the island’s
great attractions so, if visitors are looking to experience
and indulge in Canary tradition and
culture, as well as buying something typical of
the islands or sample the best of our cuisine,
they should definitely head for the markets.
At the end of May, the first edition of Trenderete
was held at the Mogan Mall with the collaboration
of La Molina Shop, an event that invited visitors
to sample and enjoy the best of the Canary
Islands. It is a charming market offering Canary
handicrafts, culinary products with an island
flavour, designer accessories, and among many
other activities, some wonderful live performances.
The many highlights of the event included a
Show Cooking by Braulio Rodriguez, one of the
top chefs in the Canary Islands, and a concert by
Germán López, one of the islands’ leading instrumentalists.
Visitors to Trenderete were treated to a unique
range of handicraft objects, delicious food, and
typical products from the archipelago, as well
as an insight into a universe of aromas and flavours
with a range of of tastings of Canary products,
represented by the Designation of Origin of
Wines of Gran Canaria Regulatory Council, Bodega
la Higuera, Café de Agaete, and much more.
The day ended at the shopping centre’s Magic
Fountain with a Special Show to make the most
of festivities for Canary Day.
The Mogan Mall Shopping Centre as a showcase
of Canary culture
By staging this event, Mogan Mall aimed to bring
tourists closer to Canary culture and flavours and,
at the same time, local islanders were invited to
enjoy a weekend of pure Canary culture.
And the fact is that Mogan Mall breathes ‘Canaryness’.
The materials used for its façades and
cladding are based on traditional Canary architecture;
its landscaping features autochthonous
species; the volcanic stones were brought from
the local land and were carefully treated to be
placed on the centre’s façade, as well as the inclusion
of works by prestigious Canary sculptors
in places specially designed for this purpose,
representing a strikingly Canary work for the enjoyment
of the whole world.

Éxito de la I Edición del Trenderete,
Market de Artesanía y Gastronomía Canaria
Los mercados en Gran Canaria son uno de
los grandes atractivos de la isla por lo que,
si nuestros visitantes buscan experimentar
y vivir la tradición y cultura canaria, además
de comprar algo típico de las islas o probar
lo mejor de nuestra gastronomía, no pueden
dejar de visitar los mercados de Gran
Canaria.
A finales del pasado mes de mayo se celebró,
en el Centro Comercial Mogan Mall y
con la colaboración de La Molina Shop, la I
Edición del Trenderete, un evento que invitó
a saborear y disfrutar lo mejor de las Islas
Canarias. Un mercado con encanto donde
se pudo encontrar artesanía canaria, productos
gastronómicos con sabor isleño,
complementos de diseño, y entre otras muchas
actividades, se pudo disfrutar de fantásticas
actuaciones en directo.
Entre los platos fuertes del evento, los asistentes
disfrutaron de un Show Cooking de
la mano de Braulio Rodríguez, uno de los
mejores chefs de Canarias, y del concierto
de Germán López, uno de los instrumentalistas
más destacados de las islas.
En el Trenderete, sus visitantes descubrieron
objetos de artesanía únicos, deliciosas
comidas y productos típicos del archipiélago,
además de acercarse a un universo de
aromas y sabores con diferentes tipos de
catas de productos canarios, representadas
por el Consejo Regulador Denominación de
Origen Vinos de Gran Canaria, Bodega la Higuera,
Café de Agaete, y mucho más.
La jornada finalizó en la fuente Mágica del
Mogan Mall con un Espectáculo Especial
aprovechando la festividad del Día de Canarias.
El Centro Comercial Mogan Mall como escaparate
de la cultura canaria
Con este evento, el Centro Comercial Mogan
Mall ha querido acercar a los turistas a
nuestra cultura y a los sabores canarios, y al
mismo tiempo, a los propios canarios se les
invitó a que disfrutaran de un fin de semana
de canariedad en estado puro.
Y es que en Mogan Mall se respira canariedad.
Los materiales empleados para sus fachadas
y revestimientos están basados en
la arquitectura tradicional canaria; su jardinería
cuenta con especies autóctonas; las
piedras volcánicas son las que se encontraron
en el terreno y se trataron cuidadosamente
para poner en la fachada del centro,
así como la inclusión de obras de prestigiosos
escultores canarios en lugares especialmente
diseñados para ello. Una obra rigurosamente
canaria para el disfrute del mundo
entero.
