3. Santiago de los Caballeros Pilgrimage (Gáldar)

Although the definitive date is still to be confirmed, the residents of this
northern municipality are already gearing up for this day –to be shared with
you- as the big date for the pilgrimage of their town, Gáldar, which includes a
thanksgiving offering to the saint and a procession through the streets of the
municipality’s historic town centre. This is truly one of the great summer festivals
on the island and one of its most traditional pilgrimages.

Aunque la fecha no está confirmada al cien por cien, los vecinos de este municipio
al norte de Gran Canaria ya manejan ese día -y nosotros lo compartimos
contigo- como la fecha grande para la romería de su pueblo, Gáldar, que
incluye una ofrenda al santo y procesión por las calles del casco histórico del
municipio. Una de las grandes fiestas del verano de la isla y una de las romerías
con mayor tradición de la isla.

Pozo Izquierdo beach hosts one of the most exciting events in the World Windsurfing
Championship between the second and third week of July. In addition
to the spectacle of waves and wind, some bolt-on events are being organised
around the different sporting events.

Mundial de windsurfing entre la segunda y tercera semana de julio. Además
del espectáculo de olas y viento, se organizan algunos eventos paralelos alrededor
de las diferentes pruebas deportivas.
