Peanuts Grow Underground
Famous Canada Day Parade
Yes! Peanuts grow underground! The 18" leafy plant produces small yellow
flowers. After pollination a small shoot forms at the base of each flower
and pushes into the soil. The process is called "pegging." The "peg"
develops into a mature peanut pod by season's end.
