The Second Time Around Given the opportunity of living your life all over again, would you? Just like the first time around—each day would be unknown to you, with the same time frame, location, parents, siblings, and outcome of that life. Nothing would change. It would simply be a repeat, and for the same length of time. Has your life been such a great one, that you would love to get the chance to do it all over again? Or does the simple thought make you shudder? Looking at a different option; not only could you return to live again, you would also be able to pick the century and the continent, of when and where to do it. Would that sound tempting at all? You could choose to live two thousand years ago, or perhaps hundreds of years in the future, or anywhere in between. It could also be in a place you have always loved, or wanted to visit. How difficult a choice this would be, with all the unknowns! Would you be adventurous enough to give it a try, or is it simply inconceivable? By Jeanette Paddon, St. Thomas Assuming it WAS possible to live your life again, while also being aware ahead of time, of all the things you could or should have done differently, or not done at all, but are now getting the chance to change; would you go for it? Remember, you have no way of knowing that the choices you make the second time around will be any better than the ones in your previous life. You would still be the same person in the way you think and in your dreams for the future. You would also be faced with the same obstacles, so what are the odds you would even be able to live any differently? When trying to correct the mistakes from your previous life, what if you make even bigger ones? I realize many people do believe we come back here over and over again. However, there is no absolute proof of that, and there probably never will be. Therefore, I will sleep easy tonight. Would I choose to return if I could?
