<strong>Türkiye</strong>’de bir ilk!<br />

Based on the fact that the gene structure gives<br />
important information about the course of diseases,<br />
and each of them is an expert in their field, five<br />
associations came together for the first time and<br />
prepared the “Genetic Diagnosis Consensus Report”<br />
covering ovarian and prostate cancer for the first<br />
time in <strong>Türkiye</strong> with the unconditional support of<br />
AstraZeneca <strong>Türkiye</strong>. In the report, it was stated that<br />
the cause of one out of every four ovarian cancers is<br />
hereditary, and it was noted that prostate cancer is<br />
also associated with hereditary breast and ovarian<br />
cancer.<br />
While 1.4 million men are diagnosed with prostate cancer<br />
every year in the world, more than 19 thousand men<br />
were diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2020 alone in<br />
our country. In addition, approximately 314,000 women<br />
globally and more than 4 thousand women in our country<br />
were diagnosed with ovarian cancer. In the same year, 5<br />
thousand 464 men from prostate cancer and 2 thousand<br />
730 women from ovarian cancer lost their lives in <strong>Türkiye</strong>.<br />
Genomic markers have become much more important<br />
in many cancers, thanks to today’s genetic approach,<br />
the foundations of which were laid with the “Human<br />
Gen yapısının, hastalıkların seyri konusunda önemli<br />
bilgiler verdiğinden yola çıkan ve her biri alanında<br />
uzman olan beş dernek, ilk defa bir araya gelerek<br />
AstraZeneca <strong>Türkiye</strong>’nin koşulsuz desteği ile <strong>Türkiye</strong>’de<br />
ilk kez yumurtalık ve prostat kanserini kapsayan<br />
“Genetik Tanı Uzlaşı Raporu”nu hazırladı. Raporda her<br />
dört yumurtalık kanserinden birinin nedeninin kalıtsal<br />
olduğu belirtilirken prostat kanserinin de kalıtsal meme<br />
ve yumurtalık kanseri ile ilişkili olduğuna dikkat çekildi.<br />
Dünyada her yıl 1,4 milyon erkeğe prostat kanseri tanısı<br />
koyulurken ülkemizde sadece 2020 yılında 19 binden fazla<br />
erkeğe prostat kanseri tanısı koyuldu. Bununla birlikte<br />
küresel çapta yaklaşık 314 bin kadın, ülkemizde ise 4<br />
binden fazla kadın yumurtalık kanseri tanısı aldı. Aynı yıl<br />
<strong>Türkiye</strong>’de prostat kanserinden 5 bin 464 erkek, yumurtalık<br />
kanserinden ise 2 bin 730 kadın hayatını kaybetti.<br />
İnsanın gen haritasını çıkarmak ve hastalıklarla ilişkisini<br />
anlamak amacıyla yapılan “İnsan Genom Projesi” ile<br />
temelleri atılan günümüz genetik yaklaşımı sayesinde,<br />
genomik belirteçler birçok kanserde çok daha önemli hale<br />
geldi. Bireyselleştirilmiş kanser tıbbında kilit önemi olan<br />
genomik belirteçlerin deneyimli uzmanlarca çalışılması<br />
büyük önem arz ediyor.<br />
