The idea was founded after CEO and Co-founder of
MasterKeg, Steinar Knutsen, experienced decades
in the hospitality and brewery industry and realised
the struggles brewers face such as the cost of
resources and equipment. Fabian said it was then
that Steiner presented a solution.

“We immediately started drawing and thinking about
ways to improve keg selections. That is when we
drew inspiration from other packaging industries like
milk cartoons. We realised they don’t get sent to the
production line in full size, instead, they arrive in a
compact state.
“That is when we came up with the design for
MasterKeg – a collapsible, reusable recyclable
plastic keg that could be used almost as many
times as a steel keg,” he said.
The technology was designed with key
considerations given to restaurants, bars and hotels.
Not only does it have wheels, but it also takes up
way less space and frees up valuable storage.
Due to the double-beg design, the contents also
maintains its quality until the very last drop is
tapped.
Fabian said they are working towards the future
of kegs and believe in long and prosperous
relationships between their partners while creating a
much more stable environment for everyone.
“We believe that kegs are nothing more than
packaging for your product and should be treated
as such. This has given us many opportunities
to make adjustments and implement cost saving
features that have never been seen before.
“MasterKeg is in development and the design has
not been completed just yet. There might be minor
changes or improvements before launch and we will
keep everyone updated on our progress,” he said.
