It’s Miss Beadle!<br />

Last month I had the pleasure of being at<br />
the Cherry Blossom Festival in Marshfield<br />
Missouri.<br />
This one was their 18 th annual event<br />
and it celebrates and showcases Missouri<br />
heritage, along with guest speakers,<br />
political dignitaries, food, crafts, vendors,<br />
performances and more.<br />
They also have celebrities there to meet<br />
and greet the attendees and sign autographs.<br />
I was honored to have been asked to be a part<br />
of it.<br />
Some of the other celebrities were Jerry<br />
Mathers (the Beaver) on Leave it to Beaver.<br />
Jon Provost from Lassie, Allison Arngrim from Little House on<br />
the Prairie, Cynthia Pepper from Kissin’ Cousins, Sharon Baird<br />
(an original Mouseketeer!), Mimi Gibson from Houseboat, Karolyn<br />
Grimes from It’s a Wonderful Life, Michael Learned from The<br />
Waltons and Johnny Whittaker from Family Affair among others.<br />
While I was there I ran into Charlotte Stewart who will be<br />
remembered for her role as the teacher Miss Beadle in the series “Little<br />
House on the Prairie.” Charlotte and I go way back.<br />

I have to say without any doubt, she is one of the sweetest, loveliest<br />
ladies I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.<br />
Miss Beadle might have been her most remembered role, however<br />
she has had quite a career.<br />
She was also on such shows as Bonanza, The Office , Gunsmoke,<br />
The Waltons, and Mannix to name just a<br />
few. Charlotte also had a recurring role as<br />
Betty Briggs in the TV show Twin Peaks.<br />
Charlotte was married for a short time to<br />
Tim Considine whom you will remember<br />
as the oldest son on My Three Sons and also<br />
played “Spin” in the Walt Disney tv series<br />
“Spin and Marty.” Sadly, he passed away last<br />
year.<br />
She has also written her autobiography<br />
“Little House in the Hollywood Hills.”<br />
It was wonderful seeing her again after all these years. How blessed<br />
I am to know her.<br />
