Getting out into the community for real world
experience is an important part of this course.
The Social and Community Work teaching
team works closely with a number of partners
in the field to ensure that academic content is
closely linked to the world of work.
After this HNC you can progress onto further
study at degree level in relevant subjects such
as Social Work, Youth and Community Work,
Childhood Studies, Public Health and Social
Policy, or further training in a higher-level
apprenticeship.
This course qualifies you for roles in the sector
such as family support worker, resource
officer, community development worker,
public health and community support worker,
care planning roles, advocacy, social services
supervisory or lower management roles, and
counselling and rehabilitation support roles.
