SPORT & EXERCISE SCIENCE
Our Sport and Exercise Science Higher Technical
and Professional courses prepare you for a
career in sports coaching, health and fitness
and the wider active leisure industry. These
qualifications will develop you into a professional,
self-reflecting individual who is able to meet the
demands of employment in the sport and exercise
science sector.
Understanding the science and mechanics behind
movement, sport performance and nutrition
coupled with developing professional coaching
skills is what our Sport and Exercise Science
courses are all about.
In our HNC programme you will study a split of
practical and theory modules which will get you
to understand the fundamentals of anatomy
and physiology, biomechanics and nutrition,
with hands-on learning when it comes to sports
massage, sport technology, fitness testing and
professional coaching skills.
If you decide to progress onto our HND, you will
take your skills and knowledge to the next level,
dipping your toes into performance analysis,
sports rehabilitation and exercise physiology, as
well as learning the latest training methods in
strength and conditioning and acquiring advanced
coaching skills. Our tutors use cutting-edge drone
technology to demonstrate performance analysis.
This is a hands-on qualification which means
real life experience is crucial, that’s why you
will be working with real clients. The Sport and
Exercise Science teaching team works closely
with a number of industry partners that include
PureGym, the Bradford Bulls and Bradford Park
Avenue A.F.C, to ensure that the courses are
closely linked to the world of work. They also
work with the College’s work placements team
to provide work-based learning opportunities
for those seeking experience.

community sports leader, sports therapist or
sports development officer.
