There are many reasons why people never forget

their favourite teachers – it might be that they

were extra caring, they were funny, or they had

a special knack for getting you to learn things.

It’s our aim to transform you into that teacher.

At Margaret McMillan School of Education,

we offer a route into teaching for everybody.

No matter what your qualifications are, we have

a teacher training course for you.

If you want to teach primary school children,

our BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS

is a unique choice; not only will you earn an

undergraduate degree in education, but you will

also gain your Qualified Teaching Status (QTS).

You might already have a degree in a particular

subject and now want to teach it. That’s where a

postgraduate certificate or diploma in education

comes in handy.

You can study for a Postgraduate Certificate

(PGCE) in Primary Education or Postgraduate

Certificate (PGCE) in Secondary Education

depending on which age level you want to

teach. If you wish to teach a particular subject

at secondary level but don’t have a Level 3

qualification in that subject, you will need to take

a Subject Knowledge Enhancement course first.

All our postgraduate courses come with QTS

upon successful completion.

Our Certificate in Education and Training and

Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Training

are qualifications designed for those who wish

to teach in post-secondary settings such as

FE colleges, the community and universities.

There is the option with these two qualifications

to specialise in teaching Maths, English or

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

And if you are a university level degree holder

who is teaching at a school in England with

considerable school-based experience but

no postgraduate qualification, we offer a

QTS Assessment-Only programme.

“I was previously doing supply Teaching Assistant

work. This course has equipped me with everything I

needed to become a good teacher. The feedback I’ve

got from my colleagues has been really good so I’m

glad I did this course.”
