Here at Bradford College, we believe in

transforming lives through education – that’s

why we named our School of Education after

Margaret McMillan, a pioneer in education

who truly cared about the welfare of children

in Bradford. If you like the idea of working with

children, young people and adults, a degree

in Education will give you the opportunity to

develop their learning and development.

We have a varied selection of Education degrees

to choose from that blend theory with practice.

All our courses teach you how to become an

education practitioner who takes a creative

approach to teaching and learning, thinks

outside the box, is an advocate for people’s

wellbeing, and can meet the needs of

diverse communities.

In our Education Studies BA (Hons) programme,

you will study where, how and why people learn,

explore different education systems from around

the world, and learn the basics of social and

educational policy.

You will get the opportunity to go on a work

placement within an alternative educational

setting such as special educational needs,

early years, theatre in education, education

departments in museums and environmental

education. A BA (Hons) Education Studies is also

a direct route into teaching and you will receive

Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) upon successful

completion of the degree.

Supporting Managing and Learning in Education

is a great programme for teaching assistants

and support staff who want to go into teaching,

mixing learning at the College with a placement

in an education setting. We offer a foundation

degree programme which can then be topped

up into a full undergraduate degree.

We have designed varied routes so you can develop

professional practice appropriate to your context,

role and interests. The intention is that by working

together we will help you to achieve your goals.

Perhaps you have been in education for a while

and want to progress onto a leadership or

management role or enhance your organisational

knowledge and practice. If so, our Masters in

Education and MA in Professional Practice are

flexible and accessible postgraduate degrees

that will qualify you for a leadership role in the

education sector.

“The staff at Bradford College are amazing! I returned to education in 2016

to learn new ways to support my children. The staff supported my needs,

motivated me and encouraged me to look at my strengths, rather than my

weaknesses. They helped me overcome the challenges I faced while completing

my degree. I am the first to graduate in my family, and this is an honour.”
