Industry
partners Facilities
Our industry partners include the Royal
Shakespeare Company, Screen Yorkshire,
BBC, ITV, BFI and Kala Sangam.
You’ll have access to our Siobhan Ullah
Performance Space with sprung dance floor,
mirrors, full lighting rig and sound system.
If you are an aspiring acting professional who
wants drama to take centre-stage of your career,
our degrees in performing arts will prepare
you for your acting debut. You’ll be taught by
experienced performing arts professionals who
have worked for ITV, BBC, Channel 4, Sky and
The Royal Exchange in Manchester.
From self-taping to self-promotion,
workshop-leading to work experience, our
Foundation Degree in Performing Arts will
immerse you in the industry by providing
opportunities to learn from and work with
local, regional and national arts organisations.
You will build confidence in your ability to
tell stories in a range of media, both live and
recorded. To support the creative process, we
ensure everyone understands the practical
aspects of producing work and is empowered to
turn their artistic visions into an exciting reality.
Industry experience is vital to this programme,
which is why you will undertake work experience
for the duration of a year. Examples of placements
include a runner on a TV set, an actor with
associate companies, an assistant director at
a theatre, or a writer in a production company.
Through our relationship with Bradford Producing
Hub, we are expanding the number of work
experience partners we work with, and every
student will be allocated a placement that embeds
them within the local cultural ecology which is
currently gearing up for City of Culture in 2025.
You have the option of topping up your
foundation degree by enrolling on to our
BA (Hons) Performance top-up year.
Our degree top-up focuses on Advanced
Creative Practice and a final independent project.
You will perform in a ‘Showcase’ which you and
your peers will plan and organise, as well as invite
industry professionals. This potentially gives you
the opportunity to perform in front of agents
and casting directors.
