PUBLIC SERVICES

If serving and protecting your community,

whether by maintaining a visible presence,

providing civil services or responding to

an emergency, is your idea of a challenging

but rewarding job, our Higher Technical and

Professional qualifications in Public Services

is an exciting career pathway.

Our HNC in Public Services will offer you an insight

and understanding into the broad range of public

service roles out there, with the opportunity

to specialise in one of four pathways: Civil

Protection, Crime and Criminal Justice, Public

Service Management or Blue Light Services.

Our HND in Public Services will build upon

what you learned in your HNC and provides

the qualities needed for employment in roles

that require personal responsibility and

decision making.

At this level you will be able to specialise by

committing to specific career paths and

progression routes to degree-level study.

You will first and foremost develop your

teamwork and leadership skills, as both will

be vital in your future career. You will also be

challenged academically, with all lectures

being delivered by ex-service personnel who

are also fully qualified, graduate teachers.

Once you complete your Public Services

qualification, you will have the knowledge,

skills and experience of the sector needed

to progress onto further study or training.

You will be ready for employment in roles

such as police officer, emergency call handler,

fire services officer, the armed forces, border

force and Civil Prosecution Service.
