Facilities
You will learn in studios and workshops in
our Grade 2 listed Lister Building, home to
Bradford School of Art.
If you’re looking for an Art and Design
degree in a highly dynamic, innovative and
supportive environment, you’ve come to the
right Art School.
At Bradford School of Art, you will be provided
with a broad education in the arts, encompassing
intellectual, creative and technical skills. As well
as nurturing your artistic talent, we pay special
focus to helping you build up a work portfolio and
engaging you with the wider arts community.
Helping you realise your creative vision and
industry potential, you will develop your own
sustained, innovative and reflective art and
design practice. You will also build upon your
critical thinking, evaluation and analysis skills
and research capabilities, to enhance the ability
to communicate ideas visually and verbally.
Our BA (Hons) in Art and Design is taught by
practicing artists in a highly diverse student
environment. Your understanding and
application of art and design will be expanded
by looking at contemporary issues such as
sustainability and social, political, cultural
and global concerns.
You will benefit from relationships we have
with numerous important cultural institutions
in the region, including Cartwright Hall, The
Yorkshire Craft Centre, South Square Gallery,
Impressions Gallery, Dean Clough in Halifax,
Sunny Bank Mills, Bradford Cultural Voice Brick
Box, Delius Arts Centre and Kala Sangam.
There will be plenty of opportunities for you to
showcase your work in our Dye House Gallery
and other galleries across the region. This will
enable you to start networking with other
members of the local art community and
could lead to further opportunities.
