The summer experience in Valsequillo
The town hall organises a thematic experience entitled "Around the World" to enable
residents to strike a work/life balance during the summer
In an effort to provide an unforgettable summer
experience for local residents, Valsequillo
de Gran Canaria Town Council has launched its
popular Summer School, where more than 100
children will have the opportunity to enjoy a
programme packed with fun and learning. This
year, the chosen theme is "Around the World",
allowing the youngest explorers to take a trip
around the globe without leaving the town.
The Valsequillo Summer School is famous for its
ability to reconcile family and work life during
the summer season. Parents can be confident
that their children will be in a safe and nurturing
environment while they take care of their daily
responsibilities.
Let us imagine for a moment that China, Mexico,
the UK and Japan are just a short walk away
in the heart of Valsequillo. Each week, Summer
School participants will have the opportunity to
immerse themselves in the culture and traditions
of these countries, thanks to exciting excursions
to local destinations that will allow them to
explore and learn while also having fun.
The Jardín Canario botanical garden, Sioux City,
Crocodile Park, the Angry Birds Park and the
"Poem of the Sea" Aquarium are just some of the
places that are part of the travel itinerary for the
young adventurers from Valsequillo. In addition,
there are trips to the beach, where they can enjoy
the sun and the sea, experiencing the true essence
of summer, something not to be missed.
One highlight of this summer experience is the
inclusion of the solarium at the local "La Piscina"
Leisure, Sports and Health Complex. This facility
not only provides entertainment in the sun for
the participants of the Summer School, but is
also open to children enrolled in the "Campus
Edeval", another summer programme organised
by the Valsequillo Sports Schools, in collaboration
with the local institution. The sports
campus gives youngsters the opportunity to
participate in activities such as handball, football
and basketball, as well as other recreational
activities that promote camaraderie and sportsmanship.
The excitement generated by this summer programme
extends far beyond the facilities, as the
streets and squares of the municipality come
alive with a variety of free activities for all the
family. Valsequillo Town Council prides itself on
offering entertainment options that span different
neighbourhoods, ensuring that no one
is left without enjoying all that summer has to
offer.
In addition, the Plaza de Tifariti will become a
meeting point on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
where an exciting summer programme with a
wide range of activities for all ages will take place.
Both young people, who will enjoy exciting
excursions, and adults, who will be able to enjoy
traditional summer dinners, will join in these activities
that seek to promote culture, sport, leisure
and family entertainment.
