Italian magazines “Cyclist” and “Ciclismo.it”
find in Gran Canaria a cycling tourism paradise
The journalists rode around the island in the capable
hands of “Free Motion Bikecenter”, and rested
their legs at the “Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso
& Hotel” and the “Seaside Sandy Beach” hotel
In March this year, specialist Italian publications
“Cyclist” and “Ciclismo.it” discovered some of the
most emblematic cycling routes to be found in
Gran Canaria alongside “Free Motion Bikecenter”.
Their routes comprised plenty of natural surroundings
and a climate that encouraged them to get out
and start pedalling, constituting an optimal setting
that they hope to pass on to the 148,000 readers of
"Cyclist" and the almost 70,000 individual visitors
to "Ciclismo.it". During their stay they were able to
recharge their batteries at the sports accommodations
"Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel"
and "Seaside Sandy Beach". This promotional action
was organised by Gran Canaria Tri, Bike & Run,
the official brand of Gran Canaria Tourism.
Together with "Free Motion Bikecenter", the journalists
partook in two memorable guided tours.
The first route went from Playa del Inglés as far as
Soria, a route that includes both ascents and descents.
On their second trip they ventured up to
the famed Pico de Las Nieves which put their endurance
to the test.
Being able to wind down after these intense days
was of the utmost importance to ensure the riders
returned to a calm state. At "Gloria Palace San
Agustín Thalasso & Hotel", in addition to renting
their cycling equipment at the hotel's 'Free Motion'
shop, they were able to relax their muscles in the
Fitness Pool at its thalassotherapy centre and rest
in the Harmony Zone, an exclusive area featuring
hot and cold contrast showers.
To extend the range of accommodation on offer
for sportsmen and women, they made a beeline
for the "Seaside Sandy Beach" hotel. While there,
they were treated to the hotel's painstaking service
and exquisite gastronomy designed for cyclists.
In addition, its location close to the main cycling
routes and its 'Free Motion' centre made it the perfect
base camp from which to set off on new adventures.
Having experienced first-hand the benefits that
Gran Canaria has to offer in the field of cycling
tourism, the "Cyclist" and "Ciclismo.it" team had
to bid a 'fond farewell' to this little cycling tourism
paradise.

Los periodistas pudieron rodar por la isla con la
guía de “Free Motion Bikecenter”, además de
descansar en los alojamientos “Gloria Palace
San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel” y “Seaside Sandy
Beach”
Los medios especializados italianos “Cyclist” y “Ciclismo.it”
descubrieron el pasado marzo algunas
de las rutas ciclistas más emblemáticas de Gran
Canaria junto a “Free Motion Bikecenter”. Su recorrido
estuvo protagonizado por entornos naturales
y un clima que animaba a salir a pedalear;
un escenario óptimo que esperan trasladar a los
148.000 lectores de “Cyclist” y a los casi 70.000 visitantes
únicos de “Ciclismo.it”. Durante su estancia
pudieron reponer fuerzas en los alojamientos
deportivos “Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso &
Hotel” y “Seaside Sandy Beach”. Esta acción promocional
fue organizada por Gran Canaria Tri,
Bike & Run, marca oficial de Turismo de Gran Canaria.
Junto a la compañía de “Free Motion Bikecenter”,
los periodistas realizaron dos tours guiados para
el recuerdo. La primera ruta partió desde Playa
del Inglés hasta Soria, un recorrido que incluye
tanto subidas como descensos. En su segundo
viaje se aventuraron hasta el afamado Pico de Las
Nieves que puso a prueba su resistencia.
El reposo tras estos intensos días era de suma
importancia para asegurar la vuelta a la calma.
En “Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel”,
además de alquilar su equipamiento ciclista en
la tienda ‘Free Motion’ del hotel, pudieron relajar

duchas de contraste.
Para ampliar la oferta alojativa destinada al deportista,
tampoco dudaron en hospedarse en
“Seaside Sandy Beach”. En este hotel conocieron
su cuidado servicio y la exquisita gastronomía
pensada para el ciclista. Además, su ubicación
cercana a las principales rutas ciclistas y su centro
‘Free Motion’ supuso el perfecto campo base desde
donde partir hacia nuevas aventuras.
Tras vivir en primera persona las bondades que
Gran Canaria tiene que aportar en el ámbito cicloturista,
el equipo de “Cyclist” y “Ciclismo.it” tuvieron
que decir ‘hasta pronto’ a este pequeño gran
paraíso del bike.
