It’s finally time for all of us 1,500 volunteer officials to welcome
participants to the Småland Coast and Oskarshamn!

Stolt tävlingspartner
till O-Ringen
O-Ringen Smålandskusten is
an event for the whole region,
involving the whole of Kalmar
county and some districts of
other counties to the west. The organising
clubs include 18 orienteering clubs, as well
as speedway, football and archery clubs and
an allotment association, in order to make
sure we have the 1,500 volunteers we need.
Now, several thousand hours of voluntary
work after the contract was signed, we
are entering the final phase. The bulk of
the practical work remains to be done
between now and the opening ceremony
on 21st July. O-Ringen is a colossal event,
which is usually only experienced once as a
volunteer!
You’re invited to a spectacular Bagheera
Relay and opening ceremony by the harbour,
which is also the venue for Wednesday’s
Elite Sprint. Courses will use the harbour
area, town centre and beautiful Stadsparken.
A unique O-Ringen City and O-Ringen
Square are located on farmland just 1.5km
from the town centre.
The Småland Coast features a variety of
orienteering terrain, from detailed coastal
terrain to larger Småland hills further
inland. The Foot-O competitions are split
into two stages near Hultsfred, accessible by
bus, and three stages close to Oskarshamn.
Two stages finish in O-Ringen City and the
other is within cycling distance or a short
bus ride.
For MTBO competitors, there are
two stages at Mönsterås and three near
O-Ringen City. There are three Trail-O
stages in Oskarshamn, with the other two in
Högby and Hultsfred districts.
