(57) Abstract :<br />

A process that imparts 1) Homogenous and finer particle size distribution with increase in surface area. 2) Opens up<br />

new adsorption sites. 3) Decreases interplanner spacing <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> mineral structure. 4) Increase porosity. Enchancing <strong>the</strong><br />

overall litter properties <strong>of</strong> pet litter made from attapulgite mineral. A process that consist <strong>of</strong> crushing lumps into 10/12<br />

mm granules, mixing in a pug mixer with 30% to 35% water to make homogeneously mixed dough <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> mineral<br />

attapulgite, extruding in an extruder at a pressure <strong>of</strong> 3000 kg/cm² into noodles, which are dried at 90ºC to reduce<br />

<strong>the</strong> moisture level from about 30% to 10%, granulation and sieving to separate <strong>the</strong> required size.<br />
