(57) Abstract :<br />

The invention provides a digitally implemented system for normal and early classification <strong>of</strong><br />

radiological image data. The system comprises, input member, user interface, database, attribute<br />

extracting member and output member. The database includes learning routines, fuzzy instruction<br />

set and supplemental data. In normal classification mode unique histogram and spatial median<br />

values for intensity and slope <strong>of</strong> selected pixel are calculated by <strong>the</strong> attribute extracting member.<br />

Fuzzy instruction is applied to <strong>the</strong> calculated attributes to classify <strong>the</strong> selected pixel according to<br />

<strong>the</strong> tissue type. After classification different output images are displayed at <strong>the</strong> output member,<br />

each image showing only pixels <strong>of</strong> a particular tissue. If <strong>the</strong> user selects early classification mode,<br />

a portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> image is selected to be early classified and is stored as reference image. Attributes<br />

namely, prototype count, bin values and pixel count are calculated for <strong>the</strong> reference image by <strong>the</strong><br />

attribute extracting member. Same image is analyzed for all <strong>the</strong> attributes after certain temporal<br />

periods during which radiation <strong>the</strong>rapy is performed on <strong>the</strong> tissue. The comparative study <strong>of</strong><br />

attributes before <strong>the</strong>rapy and after <strong>the</strong>rapy is performed to conclude if connected tissue is<br />

positively diseased.<br />
