1309 1929 500cc Raleigh Model 23 Sports
Reg No. SV 5481
Frame No.0181R
Engine No.0936
This overhead valve, twin port machine has been restored
to a high standard, so much so that it takes pride of place
in the vendors kitchen and is tolerated by his better half as
a great bit of Deco design. Raleigh had three forays into the
world of motorcycles and this example comes from the
‘middle era’ and is a true sporting machine of the period.
Handsomely finished in black and cream and with correct
nickel plating throughout the three speed hand change
machine has recently benefited from a rebuilt mag/dyno
and, the vendor states, is in good running order. The last
road fund license and MOT expired in 1996 and the 21st
Century must surely see the ‘23’ in action again. Supplied
with V5 documentation.
Estimate £8,500 - £9,500
1310 2007 1585cc Harley Davidson Night Train Trike
Reg No. EN07 EJJ
Frame No.5HD1JA5197Y077574
Engine No.A5197Y077574
A stunning creation that is a professionally built machine
and a real head turner. Utilising a stock H-D frame with the
rear conversion carried out by Trike Design using a twin coil
over shock laid over design. Black Bear Harley Davidson of
Newmarket provided all the other work including the
radical front end which is an SJP Fatline 6 inch over length
telescopic unit with 3 degree rake holding a chromed
16inch Thunderstar wheel stopped by twin disc 4 pot H-D
calipers, a handbrake is incorporated into the rear disc
brake set up. The lights and electrics are a standard set up
as is the throttle and brake but the six speed plus reverse
gearbox is shifted by a hand change with built in clutch
lever. The engine department is a Stage 1 Tune H-D unit
fitted with a Kuryakin Hypercharger Pro air intake, Power
Pro fueling control unit with exhaust bypass unit, a Vance &
Hines 2 into 1 modified exhaust lets out the tune. This is
not a machine for the shrinking violet, you are going to
attract all the right sort of attention and deservedly so, after
all this is a one off and a very fine one. Supplied with MOT
and tax valid until June 2012 and current V5
documentation.
Estimate £12,000 - £14,000
1311 1931 350cc BSA L31-6 De Luxe
Reg No.TBA
Frame No.Y51337
Engine No.Y6777
BSA’s success during the depression years resulted in their
slogan ‘one in four is a BSA’ but even they had to move
with the market and update the Sloper range. The BSA
L31-6 was the resulting fast sports tourer with overhead
valves, twin exhaust ports, sump stored oil and electric
lighting all as standard. The tall geared 3 speed hand
change gearbox suited long distance touring at sustained
high speed and the models next incarnation was the
famous Blue Star range. This machine has been well
restored by French specialist Joffre Ramon and is suitably
stylish with its handlebar mounted instrument cluster.
Stated by the vendor to be running and riding well and
supplied with MOT and (duty free) road tax valid until
September 2012 and current V5 documentation.
Estimate £6,000 - £7,000
