The Norton Villiers Triumph groups last ditch attempt to<br />

take back some of the market from the Japanese saw the<br />

production of a range of mopeds with Italian engines and<br />

rather conventional styling. Too little, too late and the NVT<br />

group collapsed in the same year that this Easy Rider was<br />

produced. Last on the road in 1995, borne out by the<br />

MOT from that year, the vendor states that it was running<br />

well recently and has only 400 recorded miles which are<br />

believed to be genuine. Offered for sale with original sales<br />

brochure, guarantee card (out of warrantee we suspect),<br />

riders handbook and V5 document. An opportunity to buy<br />

the last of the line.<br />

In the days of the Iron Curtain the Soviet system served to<br />

crush innovation and individualism, many motorcycle<br />

manufacturers with proud pre-war success worked quietly<br />

behind the scenes to develop their products. The CZ 175 is<br />

one such machine, solid and reliable workhorse that was a<br />

popular ride to work machine for many with a consequent<br />

low survival rate into the modern era. The 175 is complete<br />

with V5 but has been barn stored for many years and will<br />

require recommissioning prior to use.<br />

Finished in blue this 1949 example of the first LE has been<br />

barn stored for many years, a good and complete example<br />

fitted with period accessory panniers that will require a<br />

little TLC. Offered without documentation although the<br />

registration number is still recorded with the DVLA so a<br />

replacement document should be obtainable.<br />

1328 1959 650cc Triumph 6T Thunderbird<br />

In May 1959 the Triumph factory sponsored a rally to<br />

Brussells called Operation TOGA (Triumph Owners Go<br />

Abroad) which involved 318 participants aboard 188 bikes<br />

including 31 sidecar outfits one of which was this<br />

Thunderbird. The rally was led by Triumph chief Edward<br />

Turner who was captured on film aboard 892 ANX which<br />

belonged to proud new owners Hazel and Bill Roachard.<br />

The Thunderbird has now been freshly restored to a high<br />

standard by a well known Essex based restorer and is<br />

finished in the factory correct charcoal grey and black. The<br />

vendor states that the Triumph runs perfectly well and has<br />

a fresh MOT. A very finely restored example of the marque<br />

with that rarest of associations to the guru of motorcycle<br />

design, supplied with a current MOT, V5C documentation<br />

and ready to show and ride.<br />
