Stroll the streets and be sure to make your way to the Shambles district, some of the best preserved medieval streets found in England, offering great souvenir shopping. Not only will you be mesmerised by each individual church, you will be able to relax each evening at a number of York pubs, offering great ambiance. If you have time during your stay, consider taking yourself for a drive to the surrounds of York to view the countryside. If you like, stop for lunch in the city of Birmingham for a taste of local culture or for the young at heart, Alton Towers, the UK’s largest theme park is also on the way.
