Conditions of Hire
Duration of Hire
UK and Europe: minimum hire is 1 day.
Italy: minimum hire is 3 days.
Driver Qualifications
• All drivers must have a valid driver’s licence issued in their country
of residence, held for at least 12 months. Some countries also
require an international driving permit.
• Maximum age conditions may apply. In UK and Europe minimum
and maximum age restrictions apply and may vary between
countries, details available on application.
• Young Driver surcharges apply in some countries. Age and car type
selected will impact surcharge amounts, details on application.
Deposits
A minimum deposit or credit card imprint at the commencement
of the rental to cover fuel and optional services will be required.

One Way Rentals
Continental Europe: One-way rentals are permitted within each
country free of charge. One-way rentals are permitted between
countries for certain car groups, these vary between countries in
continental Europe, but in most cases a minimum rental of seven
days will apply. Details available on application.

Special Conditions
• Additional drivers; charges for additional drivers apply and vary
between countries. These charges are to be paid in local currency on
collection of the vehicle. Details available on application.
• Cars may be driven into Republic of Ireland and continental Europe
from mainland Britain only. A fee will apply. Details on application.
• Cars can be driven into all EU countries, Norway, Switzerland,
Liechtenstein, Gibraltar, Andorra and San Marino. A fee will apply.
Details on application. Cars may not be driven into any country
outside those listed.
• Any extension of rentals will be charged at the local retail price,
valid at the pick-up rental depot.
Included Insurance
• Damage Liability Waiver (DLW)
DLW removes the additional financial responsibility for damage to
the vehicle over and above the standard excess amount on the hire
as long as the terms of the rental agreement are not violated.

• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
CDW removes the additional financial responsibility for damage to
the vehicle over and above the standard excess amount on the hire
as long as the terms of the rental agreement are not violated.

• Theft Protection (TP)
TP removes the additional financial responsibility for loss or theft of
the vehicle over and above the standard excess amount on the hire
as long as the terms of the rental agreement are not violated.

• Third Party Liability (TLW)
Unlimited cover against bodily injury to Third Party or damage to
property of Third Party. This cover not included in Republic of Ireland,
France, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands and Switzerland.

Optional Insurance
Alamo has a number of optional insurance packages available
at time of hire to reduce excess amounts or provide additional
personal accident insurance. These are payable direct.
You should check what is covered by your insurance policy.
Location Service Charge (LSC)
This charge applies to premium depot locations where cars
are collected at airports, key city centre locations and railway
stations. This charge may be referred to by an alternate name,
depending on the country of rental.
Vehicle Licensing Fee (VLF)
This is a car registration fee which applies across the United
Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and continental Europe.

Road is a unique product for your enjoyment, allowing you to
